Kaylan McDuff ('07) is working as an accountant at Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg, Moore, P.C. in Birmingham.

Kevin Thirsk finished a two week long training class that gave him a state certification to be a Law Enforcement Instructor. He is currently assigned to the Nassau County (FL) Jail and Detention Center as a Detention Deputy and Division In-Service Instructor.

Scott Masterson was recently promoted to Chief Building Official for the City of Zachary in Louisiana.  He now oversees all residential and commercial development within the city.

Jonathan Goode ('99) and his wife Kristin are celebrating the birth of their daughter, Laura Elizabeth.  She was born on April 17, 2007.

Scott Gray is now working as a consultant for The Shaw Group in Baton Rouge, LA. Shaw is one of the largest consulting firms in the country with over 20,000 employees worldwide.

Rich Ryals recently celebrated six years with Thompson Tractor Company and received a promotion to a Product Support Rep. in May 06. Celebrated eight years of marriage in March. Abbigail is becoming a decent softball player having only struck out once in nine games so far this season (Daddy's proud).

Michael Burkett was hired on April 3rd, 2006 to be the new Head Football/Softballl coach at Chambers Academy in Lafayette, AL. Congratulations to Michael!

Grant Goldenstar III graduated in May of 2005 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, and a Master of Arts in teaching biology from the University of West Alabama. He accepted the instructor of chemistry and physical science position at Leeds High School. On September 12, 2005 Grant became engaged to Miss Valerie Morgan, Alpha Sigma Alpha (Zeta Rho) '05, of Morris, Alabama. He resides in Birmingham, Alabama, and is currently applying to the Ph.D. program in microbiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham

SPC Jeremy Porter married the former Laura Clark of Pensacola, FL on March 18, 2005. They are still living in Germany for the time being. Jeremy recently ended his tour of duty in Iraq in February 2005.


Jason Anderson
and his wife wife, Mary, just had their 1st anniversary in January.  Their daughter, Emma Jean, just turned 1 in March, and they're expecting another child in late May or June.  The Anderson's also bought a home in December of last year in New Jersey.

Brian Tate
is still in the Air Force and about to finish his degree through the University of Phoenix.  He has about a semester left.  He is currently stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany.  Evonne is doing just fine.

Jeff Moody is the Football and Girls Basketball Coach at Grand Bay Middle School.


Scott Gray
('01) has been recently been promoted to Environmental Manager for the state of Mississippi for BFI Waste Systems, a Fortune 500 company. Scott will be based out of Jackson, MS.

Kevin Thirsk
('02) recently got engaged to Miss Sabra McBride of Butler, AL. Congrats to Kevin and Sabra. Kevin works for WEEMS Community Mental Health Center as a Case Manager and lives in Livingston.

Ray Garrison
('97) was married on June 21, 2003 to the former Elia Maria Fajardo.
He is the Assistant Director Public Relations for the Mayor of Miami-Dade County.
He is also in the process now of starting his own company on the side from what he is currently doing, the Collegiate sports Recruiting Network Inc. Check out the site www.scholarshippromoters.com

Jason Anderson ('98) and his fiancee are expecting their first child, Emma Jean, in February 2004. Jason lives in Yardville, NJ and works as a nurse for Progressive Nursing Staffers.

Allen and Mandy Thompson ('00) had their first baby on June 16th, 2003. Her name is Kathryn Allyn Thompson, she is 7 LBs and 10 ozs, and according to Allen, "she is a spitting image of myself".

Travis Lee has joined the Nassau County (FL) Sheriff's Department. He is living in Fernandina Beach, FL.

Reese Boulware ('99) graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine on May 18, 2003.  He is now living in Honolulu, Hawaii, where is serving as a Captain in the Pacific Regional Medical Command of the U.S. Army.  He is doing a transitional residency at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu.  Reese graduated in from UWA with honors and while in college served as Sage, 2nd Counselor, 4th Counselor and 1st Counselor.  Keep up the good work Reese, and, in the words of Dr. Wilkins, Good Show!!!

Scott Masterson is working as a deputy for the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Department in Clinton, LA.

J.R. Grace is working for Stuart C. Irby Co. as inside salesman and warehouse manager in Selma, AL. He and his wife Beverly have two children, Joel (2) and Riley (8 mo).

John McLemore
is now a certified personal trainer and work full time at Fitness Together personal training studio as a personal trainer. He resides in Hoover, AL.

Jeremy Porter
graduated from the U.S. Army Military Police School on August 23rd, and has since graduated From U.S. Army Airborne School. He is stationed with the 230th Military Police Company, Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Kyle Tucker ('01) is currently working his way up the corporate ladder at Virginia College in Birmingham. He's working as a Financial Aid Officer there.

James Rutherford ('98) and his family now reside in Thomasville. He's plans to hang up his whistle for a while and work with his father in his construction business.

Brian Tate and his wife Evonne are expecting there first child around the end of October. Brian is now in the Air Force and is stationed at Travis AFB in California.

Anthony Mock ('02) married Kristen Faulkner of Gadsden on August 17, 2002 at The Lumpkin House in Albertville, AL. David Miller ('00), Michael Greene ('01), and David Laster ('04) served as groomsmen. Several other brothers were on hand including the usual wedding "celebrity" appearances. Anthony and Kristen now reside in Huntsville, AL, where is employed with Cinram.

Timothy Goode ('01) is in graduate school at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Dan Beverly manages and administers SumterNet in Livingston.

Matthew Ford ('00) and Wes Hatcher ('01) are now enrolled at Mississippi College of Law in Jackson, MS.

Jeff Moody ('02) is getting married on November 30th to Karee Olson. Jeff is teaching history, special ed, and coaching football at Citronelle High School in Citronelle, Alabama.

Rich Ryals ('00) and his wife Brandy had their second child on May 17, 2002. Evelyn Grace weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz.

Allen Thompson ('00) is now with the Capital City Bombers in Columbia, SC. The bombers are minor league team with the New York Mets. If you want to watch any of the games please look on bomberball.com and get schedule and let him know of the games.

Jason Anderson ('98) is in Philadelphia, PA working at the University of Pennsylvania. He works in the cardiac cath lab. Jason served as Sergeant at Arms and chaired several committees while at UWA.

Joseph Schell ('99) is a web developer for AMICO (Alabama Metal Industries) in Birmingham, AL.  Joseph served as the Chapter Sage, 2nd Counselor, & 3rd Counselor.  He also served as Chairman on the Chartering, Finance, & Scholarship Committees.  Schell graduated with honors from UWA in May, 1999.

Randy Morris ('00) is now employed with HMB Alabama L.L.C. Engineering Firm of Montgomery, AL.  He now resides in Millbrook, AL.  Randy chaired several committees at UWA including fundraiser and his accolades include the AFLAC Player of the Game.  Randy also served our country in Desert Storm.

Allen ('00) and Mandy Thompson were married on December 31st at the 1st United Methodist Church in Butler, AL. Allen served as Sergeant at Arms during college and is currently in graduate school at Troy State University. Congratulations 'Butler' and Mandy!

Brad Phillips (EB '94) once said, "Joe Schell can have any girl on this campus!"  As it turned out, Joseph ('99) only had his eye on one girl at UWA and, at last, on May 26, 2001, he was married to Miss Rita Smith (FM, '00) of Cropwell.  The wedding took place at the good ol' Bethel Baptist in Moody, AL.  Several brothers were on hand to join the fest, along with several notable celebs (F. Mercury, the good Grenator, and the best football player ever). In the starting lineup of groomsmen were brothers Peeps, Fats, Doody, and Kwanzaa Timmy.  Congratulations Joe and Rita!  Schell wins.

Wes Hatcher ('00) was married to Miss Elana Dixon (ASA, '02) of Thomasville on December 2, 2000.  Lanie is the Sigma Pi Sweetheart for 2000-01.  The brothers of Sigma Pi joined Wes in the ceremony and celebration at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Best man John McLemore was on hand to give the toast to the newlyweds before they went their way on their honeymoon in the Caribbean.

Alumnus Jonathan Goode ('99) married Kristin (Potts) ('99 - Judson College) of Marion, AL!  The wedding took place on September 30, 2000 in Marion, AL.  Jonathan served as 4th Counselor and Herald while at UWA.  Jonathan and Kristin are residing in Troy, AL as Jonathan serves on staff with Campus Outreach.  Shotongoalscooooooooooooorrrrrrreeeee!!!!!!

Alumnus Todd Cassity ('97) and his lovely wife April ('97) had their first baby! Christian Luke was born in July, 2000.  Congratulations Todd and April!
